DECISION ENGINE:6-LAYER

Glossary of Orbital Terms

DECISION

One of four canonical outputs the engine emits per satellite: CONTINUE, ESCALATE_REVIEW, PREPARE_DISPOSAL, or INITIATE_DISPOSAL — each backed by a citation chain.

RISK SCORE

Aggregate score (0–10) combining compliance status, collision probability, fuel reserve, and battery health. Higher means more urgent action is warranted.

SCORE BREAKDOWN

The per-factor contributions — Disposal Forecast, Compliance, Collision Risk, Economic Exposure — that sum to the risk score, each shown with its reason.

CONFIDENCE

Forecasted probability (0–1) that the recommended path succeeds, refined from real telemetry such as battery health and remaining fuel.

DISPOSAL WINDOW

Estimated days remaining before the post-mission disposal deadline (planned life minus mission day), paired with an urgency flag (LOW / MODERATE / HIGH).

EOL READINESS

End-of-life readiness score (0–100) and tier — OPTIMAL, STABLE, MARGINAL, or AT RISK — indicating how prepared a satellite is for safe disposal.

OVERRIDE

An operator's logged decision to accept, defer, or reject an engine recommendation. NAVIS advises; the operator retains final authority.

AUDIT LOG ENTRY

An append-only record of a sensitive action — a decision, override, or configuration change — capturing the actor, target, and timestamp.
